Hey there!

I'm Catalina Velez

I’m a graphic designer, illustrator and filmmaker based in Mexico City and London. I have a degree in Graphic Design from Central Saint Martins, and started my career designing commercial film treatments for Riff Raff, an award-winning production company.

I forged a career as an Associate Producer, taking documentary films ideas and making them a reality. I’ve secured access to difficult to find interviewees and set up complex shoots across LatAm, US and Europe for films about narco-trafficking rings, FIFA football captains, and past-tense stories of a slew of murders of the Osage Native American Tribe. I've developed my own series ideas, embedding with Brazilian special operations police forces and demobilised FARC rebels in Colombia.

Making documentaries involves crafting compelling narratives and communicating stories effectively through engaging with people, conducting thorough research and developing visual concepts, and I'm excited to apply these skills into my work in visual design.
